A good session of Prime Minister’s Questions today, which showed Ed Miliband to have done his homework and David Cameron to have been somewhat blase when he perhaps should have expected a tougher time than he’d apparently anticipated.
Anyway, let’s note for future reference these two separate quotes from David Cameron today:
We do have to ask better off people to bare their share of the burden…
What I believe is fair is asking better off people to make a contribution to paying off the deficit.
I agree with him, and shall look forward to inheritance tax in particular being amended so that better off people make their contribution to paying off the deficit.
